Mineshaft

Mineshaft is checkpoint 3 of 7 in Drain the Lake — an old mine cut into the lakebed. Reaching it awards the The Mines badge worth 75 Gems, and it becomes a respawn point so a swim or a Shark no longer sends you back to the start.

3,430,030 players have reached it — about 69% of everyone who has drained a first bucket, down from 74% at the Cavern.

Reaching the Mineshaft

An old mine cut into the lakebed, and the mid-run checkpoint. Roughly one in twelve players who reach the Cavern do not make it this far, so this is where a weak economy starts to show.

The Mineshaft is the middle wall. Almost everyone who stalls out does it around here, and the cause is nearly always the same: an economy too small to pay for the longer trips deep water demands. Keep buying cheap Token Income and Bucket Capacity nodes and the wall disappears.
